Dan Bednarczyk
Dr. Bednarczyk received a BS in Genetics from the University of Kansas. He remained in Lawrence for two more years doing post-graduate teaching and research in Molecular Biology. Dr. Bednarczyk graduated with his Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2001.
Upon graduation he was awarded the AAOMS Implantology Award for his superior work with the placement and restoration of dental implants. Following graduation he became a General Practice Resident at the University of Iowa-Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. This program furthered his cosmetic and restorative skills in addition to providing advanced clinical training in oral surgery and intravenous conscious sedation. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Bednarczyk relocated to Denver and was an associate in a large group practice for three years.
Very soon after the birth of their first child the Bednarczyks returned home to Kansas City. Professionally, Dr. Bednarczyk is a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association and Fifth District Dental Society. Notably, Dr. Bednarczyk is also a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and recently received accolades as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Dan resides in Johnson County with his wife Collette and their son and daughter.
 Audrey Rockers Franks, RDH
Hygienist
Audrey graduated from Johnson County Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Sunnybrook Dental since the doors were opened in November 2006. As a Dental Hygienist, she enjoys helping people understand the importance of a healthy mouth and how that connects to our total health. She values the relationships she’s built over the years with our patients. Audrey was married in the fall of 2011. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing and watching sports, and spending time with her husband, Dale. They live in Olathe.

 Erin Lewis
Clinical Assistant
Erin joined the Sunnybrook Dental team in 2011. The practice of dentistry had piqued her interest, and our practice is her first step on that journey. Erin received a BSE in Community Health with a minor in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 2011. During her tenure as a Jayhawk, she was a scholarship player on the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team. Her accolades include: Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll all four years. Next on her list of goals is a career in Dental Hygiene and she is making that goal happen. Erin has a gift for putting people at ease, and you can see that in all she does in the practice. Erin is extremely compassionate with people and has a gentle touch. She is very respectful and enjoys making people smile. Erin currently resides in Stilwell.

 Gina B. Smith, CDA
Clinical Assistant
Gina has been in the dental profession since 1999. She and Dr. Dan have been working together for most of her career. She was with Sunnybrook Dental when the doors opened in 2006. Gina is a Certified Dental Assistant, OSHA trained, CPR Certified, Expanded Functions Certified, Prosthetics Expanded Functions Certified and has completed additional courses in dental anatomy and morphology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Gina is one of the friendliest people you will meet and has a knack with kids. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, and currently resides there with her husband and two children.

 Julie Meacham
Patient Coordinator
Julie might be considered the face of the Sunnybrook Dental office for she is the first point of contact upon any visit. She has a knack for making anyone feel at ease with her quick wit and kind demeanor.
Her primary goal is to build a strong rapport between our patients and the practice. Julie is also a hairstylist in Overland Park and passionate about aesthetics, and certainly the connection with a great smile is evident in her love of dentistry. Ask her for an appointment!

 Rachel Rasmussen, RDH
Hygienist/Business Administrator
Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from the University of Kansas in May 2009. Immediately following graduation, she started on her dental journey at Sunnybrook Dental, learning many skills from patient clinical care to business administration. She was accepted into UMKC School of Dentistry's Dental Hygiene program for the class of 2012, but always returned to the office during her breaks. Rachel is excited to re-join the Sunnybrook Team full time again, in her new role as a Dental Hygienist!
Outside of her hours here at Sunnybrook, Rachel loves to spend time with her family, friends, and puppy. She loves to read, run, play tennis and sand volleyball, and she tries to make it back to Lawrence as often as possible to reminisce and watch KU Basketball and Football.
